Tiptoe Tiger E50 🐯| The Light at the End of the Strip Mall
Edition #50 | Ooh list, Laying down, As strange as fiction, Lichen it lovin' it, Sleepy Jean
Hi Tiptoe Tiger fans,
Sorry for leaving everyone hanging last week and not publishing a new edition. As I’m getting to the last edition (#52), my priorities and attention have been going elsewhere. And the consistency around here (Tiptoe Tiger) has been dropping a little as a result. Scandal.
Just playing, it’s not too heavy. Enjoy this week’s edition!

I love this. Long live Web 2.0.
This website links out to a bunch of blogs on different subjects. I found the Graveyard Detective blog, telling stories about graveyards and the dead, as well as clearing up the age old discussion as to what qualifies a graveyard vs a cemetery, to be very endearing.
Constructive Rest
I had a pretty painful hip injury earlier this week that I must talk about at every opportunity possible. Apart from dealing with the injury itself, it’s been a good opportunity to return to the practices that keep my body integrated in the first place. My favorite of those is called “constructive rest” in the Alexander Technique. If done consistently, it’s one of the most powerful and easily the most effortless way I’ve found to let go of back tension. Even just 15 minutes can make a big difference but I’ve found that with continued practice, you build a skill that allows you to go to deeper levels of relaxation each time you practice.
Philip K. Dick Coincidences
This twitter thread from a little while back catalogs a couple of crazy coincidences reported by the author Philip K. Dick about things he had written about repeating themselves in reality and vice versa.
I can’t really do it justice here without telling the story so you’ll just have to read it to (dis)believe it.

Lichens Explained
I really enjoyed this deep dive on lichens. Did you know that every lichen is composed of two organisms, a fungal organism and a photosynthetic organism?
Daydream Believer - Paul Westerburg
Hey hey to the Monkees. Here’s Paul Westerburg covering a classic.
Thank You!
I’ll see you next week (and the one after that).
